Cpl Chase Peloquin – USMC
July 1st – July 7th 2017
Roatan, Honduras
We are proud to introduce US Marine Corporal Chase Peloquin. Cpl Peloquin served with C Co, 1st LAR BN with combat deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Peloquin visited us for a week of scuba diving in Roatan, Honduras. Cpl. Peloquin suffers from PTSD and contacted us in regards to learning scuba diving as therapy for his PTSD. Needless to say after only one week of diving in crystal clear Caribbean waters on the second largest reef in the world, he was hooked! We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Peloquin, his attitude and willingness to learn was incredible.
Cpl. Peloquin wants to honor his friend, Lance Cpl. Kevin Oratowski, 23, of Wheaten, IL who was KIA on 18 August 2010. Lance Cpl. Oratowski was killed by a roadside bomb in Helmand province in Afghanistan during his first combat deployment. He enlisted in 2008 and was assigned to Camp Pendleton. For his complete write up on Military Times please visit http://thefallen.militarytimes.com/marine-lance-cpl-kevin-e-oratowski/4754486.
The diving was incredible to say the least, being able to offer our services to wounded veterans in the caribbean makes the courses easy due to visibility and lack of currents/rough seas. If you are interested in our program and becoming a Warfighter Diver please contact us and we can begin the registration process!
